Our Irish beaches are not as frequented as those in Spain or France, Solitude therefore is an apt name for this painting of the Causeway Coast. You the viewer are immersed in the scenery to enjoy its soothing effects. Bertie's palette is habitually very dark and this painting of Whitepark Bay looking towards Ballintoy is a beautiful exception to the rule. We love the detail of the drift wood, the colour and movement of the sea and the clouds pushed by the wind. A brilliant oil painting by a talented Irish artist.
