Perched on a pine tree branch, two red squirrels are enjoying their morning chat. A detailed gouache painting with a watercolour background of the glens of Antrim. The red squirrel number has been decimated through the introduction of American grey squirrels. Ballycastle forest is one of the few places in Ireland where you will be able to spot them.

We love the texture on the branch and the detail of each animal, a signature trait of Robert Spotten's paintings.

This painting forms part of the joint exhibition by ceramicist Ann-Marie Robinson and artist painter Robert Spotten - ENDANGERED
