The Irish Legend: The Children of Lir

Once upon a time, in the ancient stories of Ireland, there lived King Lir and his four beloved children. When sorrow came to his family, Lir married again, but his new wife, Aoife, grew jealous of the children’s gentle beauty and happiness. In a moment of darkness, she cast a spell upon them, transforming them into four graceful swans.

For many long years, the children drifted across Ireland’s waters, their voices carrying songs of longing, love and hope. One of the places they rested was the Sea of Moyle, between Ballycastle and Rathlin Island, where the waves held their story for generations to come.

This elegant sterling silver jewellery collection captures that timeless legend, showing the four swans upon the Sea of Moyle and flying off in the Moonlight. A beautiful piece inspired by one of Ireland’s most cherished myths, it is a meaningful gift for anyone who loves Irish heritage, folklore and storytelling.

The pendant is handmade in sterling silver and comes with an 18-inch silver snake chain, the earrings are made with sterling silver.

In keeping with our commitment to net zero, this Children of Lir jewellery collection has been handcrafted using recycled metal in a solar-powered workshop. Our packaging is made in the UK from recyclable materials, making this a thoughtful piece in every sense.
