The opening of Sinead's exhibition is Saturday 1st September at 2pm. Come and meet Sinead, she will speak to you about her work and inspiration.

We know we always say "don't miss it" but we always mean it including this time!

Sinead's work is beautiful in colour, expressive in moods and emotions.

The theme for the exhibition is "Momentum" - Visual gatherings of moments spent entranced by landscapes, daydreams and reality encircled by family life illustrating the daily life of artist Sinead Smyth.  Smyth's work focuses on capturing movement and the essence of atmosphere, communicating emotion and fleeting changes in mood created by surroundings and situations.

Sinead Smyth, artist

Sinéad is an experienced artist and facilitator.

She has worked with many communities, schools, arts organisations and public bodies including the Turner Prize 2013, Thames Festival London, The British Council, City of Culture 2013, Belfast City Council, Causeway Coasts and Glens District Council, Derry and Strabane District Council, Donegal County Council and more.

Her work is based largely on emotional response and is derived from every day observations of people, landscapes (real and imagined) co-dependencies and storytelling. She records in writing, by sketch and photographic references, developing paintings and installations from various stances and instances, often painting en plein air.  Her aim is to capture the essence of her chosen subject, creating the illusion of detail through energetic mark making, often focusing on impressionistic abstraction.

this is your personal invitation to come to the opening of Sinead Smyth's show "Momentum" Saturday 1st September at 2pm.
